Twitterrific for Twitter App Reviews

91 Customer Reviews:

If you thought that you’d get the same excellent iOS experience on OS X…you’re in for an awful disappointment. This app is UGLY, not intuitive, and makes my entire menu bar freeze when I open it. What in the world, IconFactory??

Neat app. Needs some improvments… - I cant get to a users page unless theyre in my timeline. - Feels like it doesnt keep itself updated. But if you set the text size to tiny, and pick your favorite color scheme, it really fits into my desktop and workflow. I dont regret getting it, just want to see it improve in the future.

Three stars only due to the crashing...

great app and love using it, only gripe is the random crashes that happen with no way to understand why it crashed.

The font update leaves a lot to be desired. Everything blends together and simply doesnt have a good feel to it. The decision to supersize the name of the author of each individual tweet and removing the bolded name is frankly, quite annoying. I love Twitterific, specifically because of Tweet Marker fuctionality but I dont think I can use the app at this point due to the poor visual experience of the timeline. Font size options in the preferences menu (similar to the official Twitter app) would be a huge plus.

Ive tried them all, and Twitteriffic is my hands down favorite. The updated font in the most recent release makes the timeline much more readable. nice work guys!

As always the app is great. It does everything that Twitteriffic lovers keep coming back for. However…I have to say that im not at all thrilled with the typographic changes… removing the bold from the twitter user names just absolutely kills the nice hierarchy I was use to. There is very little seperation now and visually, I think it KILLS the app. Please bring back your original typography…. PLEASE.

Autorefreshing is markedly improved and the new typography is fantastic—please *dont* change it. I dont think a non-streaming app can ever autorefresh too frequently, so theres always room for improvement there, but this is definitely the best edition of Twitterrific yet.

Very good

I tweet for 10+ Twitter accounts every day. Twitterrific makes it easy to do that. Really easy.

ok twitter app

Got this for $5 and Im happy with it. For what I want in a Twitter client this app is what I want.

There arent a lot of Mac desktop twitter apps that support Tweet Marker, so I went with this one. That works well, but seriously, virtually every Twitter app supports user and hashtag muting. Disappointed.

Don

Doesnt allow you to schedule tweets. Very basic functionality and you can get one similar for free.

I got this because I wanted Tweetmarker support on my desktop Twitter app. I dont really care too much about muting people or keywords, which seems to be a big complaint from a lot of the people writing negative reviews. But what I do want, what I really cant believe Twitterrific lacks, is the ability to SAVE DRAFTS. Being unable to save drafts is bad enough, but there is **NO WARNING** when this app blows away what you were working on! What developer does that?! It wouldnt be that big of a deal, tweets are only 140 characters, after all, but check out the other feature thats seriously lacking: the ability to drag images into a tweet. Dragging an image from the desktop into the compose area pastes in the files URL, not the file itself. You have to open a file browsing window to attach images. To make things worse, you must attach each image ONE AT A TIME. To be clear, the reason I find it so shocking that Twitterrific lacks these features is beceause Iconfactory tends to make great stuff. And this Twitter client was one of the first (if not the first) desktop Twitter client. How its developed the following it has is beyond me. The search for a desktop Twitter client thats as functional and well designed as Tweetbot on iOS continues. Tapbots have probably made a mint with Tweetbot for iOS, so I feel that theres a good chance theyll come to OS X, too.

Pros: - I like Twitterific for its ability to sync tweet markers between multiple devices. - Not built on Adobe AIR. Cons: - No ability to permanently turn off spelling auto-correct. It will deactivate for a while, and then turn on again-- maybe after restart? Id really like the app to remember my preference. - No upload to Twitter picture service. - No ability to have 2 windows from 2 twitter accounts into a single window, a la Tweetdeck. - Confusing error message when trying to retweet a locked account. (Took a while to figure this one out.)

And I have not written many reviews, but I had to for this app. I am finding that the features they include are good, BUT for a payed app, I am finding that this all goes to gloss and not to much functionality. I should have saved my money and not strayed for a few moments from HootSuite.

Thank you for being the only app designed for the retina macbook pro! Seriously other apps need to learn from you, the only reason I bought this app over the free one was because of the RETINAZ! Looks glorious! Also I actually really like how this app works over the crappy free one. YAY FOR RETINA!!!

If you close the main window, the app goes into a sort of suspention where it no longer updates itself. I still cannot think of any justification for this, as the end result is pretty much equivalent to quitting the app all together only without the benefit of freeing up system resources... I was told the only work around is to hit Command-H to hide the app as opposed to being able to click the close box on the window. In Mountain Lion, however, Command-H has no effect while the app is in Menubar only mode. This leaves the only work around to keep twitterrific checking for tweets without the window visible as being inoperable… In version 3, not only would the app keep updating if you closed the window, but it had a nice feature where you could have the app auto hide itsself when you clicked on any other apps window in the background. I still feel the current version is lacking some of the basic features that made v3 as good as it was...

App is fantastic! Ive been using it on my iPad for a while, so I decided to get it on my Mac as well. Now, there is one thing that is needed, and that is support for Mountain Lions new Notification Center. That is the only reason I took off a star...

good but...

It needs to support live streaming, I just hate clicking the refresh button. It also needs picture preview in timeline.
