Twitterrific for Twitter App Reviews

91 Customer Reviews:

I think this app is lacking a few features that if I would have known previous to purchasing, I wouldnt have bought it. 1) Realtime streaming - I hate how I have to manually refresh the timeline, or wait a set period of time for it to refresh. I would like to see realtime streaming so the second a tweet is posted, it appears. 2) No profile jumping - I would like to be able to press a few keys and type in a username to jump to their profile. (on the official twitter app, pressing command + U allows you to jump to any profile) Add these features, and its a for sure buy.

A solid Twitter client

I have tried several Twitter clients on Mac OS X, but I keep going back to Twitterrific.

Bruno Godbout v4.4.7 · 14 years ago

Disappointed to see realtime streaming still not added in latest version. Without it, its far less usable than the free twitter client. Concur also with those who said that the mix of new and older tweets in your stream is confusing. If i open twitterific and the twitter client side by side and watch them update, it becomes quickly apparent how much i a missing if i rely on twitterific.

I love this app… not sure why it gets any bad reviews. Its attractive and full-featured. Im about an intermediate Twitterer and Twitterific does everything I need it to and does it very well. Ive tried many others and find them either too heavy or too light. Twitterific is a great balance. My only complaint is a minor one and personal… the sidebar is a little cumbersome at first BUT, you get used to it - especially if you take the time to learn the keyboard shortcuts. I highly recommend this app to everyone!!

Ok

Its pretty but lacks inline pics(thumbnail pics). It also needs retweet with comment etc. I bought it but found Osfoora later and have been using it instead. Osfoora has it ALL, hands DOWN!

I love the clean looks, the simplicity, the absolute focus of the app. But I cant stand the pace of development. We get a new icon the same day the new Macbooks were announced. Weve been waiting almost two years since the live streaming API was made available to developers in September of 2010. I dont understand these priorities.

Missing mute, inline images and smooth scrolling features. Are they coming? I have had this twitter client for almost a year and they have only updated for the retina display macbook pros. Their priority seems to be only the visual aspect. All very nice and all but when I pay so much for an application I expect more (continued development). Other clients have all of these features, get Osfoora if you care more about them (well implemented) or if you care about only the visuals (Osfoora has nice visuals as well). Your choice.

Theres a lot lacking in this app despite the fact that Twitteriffic looks great on a Retina display. Under OS X 10.8.2, it requires authentication from Twitter every time its opened (which is incredibly annoying). It lacks many of the features Ive come to rely on in the Tweetbot beta on my other machine; in-line pictures, the ability to access a range of basic features from the side panel, a range of basic actions including your profile, quoting and retweeting, and so on.

I really like Twitterrific. It is the best twitter client among all, particularly if one uses it on both iOS and Mac interchangeably. Unfortunately, there seems to be a rare (and difficult to pinpoint) bug in the Mac version as it cases intermitent but frequent crashes in my Mac after the upgrade to Mountain Lion. I became convinced that Twitterrific is the source as: 1. whenever it crashed, I was interacting with the App. 2. Once I stopped using the app temporarily, the systems crashes stopped. Unfortunately, since I found out Twitterrific is the cause for the system crashes, I have been trying to get in touch with the people at the icon factory via twitter without success. Their website doesnt offer a support forum, help desk or bug report system. Because of this lack of costumer support, Twitterrrific deserves 1 star. If it wasnt for that lack of support and the persistent bug, I would give it five.

Each year it loses a star

Desperately forgotten. Shame. All Twitter desktop apps are junk.

--------------- I hope for more detailed font settings. * Font size by "pt" * Font weight selection (Normal or Bold)

I like this app, but it doesn’t work good on Yosemite. I have problems with refreshing (connection error), and other few small issues. I would like to see few features from twitter like, multiple images support.

krgorny v4.5.1 · 11 years ago

This has alwasy been my preferred twitter client, but it’s not updated very often. As of now it appears all profile image icons are broken. That is to say in the account drop downs the account images are all white boxes, and in the twittter timeline all followed users account images are also white boxes… This stared a month or two ago, yet there’s been no updates to address the issue...

I used to be a die-hard Twitterrific user on both iOS and OS X. Twitterriffic was for a while the best option and I really benefitted from the seamless integration between the two apps and they both worked so well. It’s been a few years now and my patience is starting to run out. First, the desktop app (this one that i’m reviewing now) started to seem neglected compared to the ios app which was getting more updates. understandable, sure. I let it go. Besides, even if it felt a little old, the desktop client works OK. and it still does. works OK… but come on! It used to be the best! I’m sure the talented iconfactory folks have other stuff to worry about, but this app is definitely languishing out in the hot sun. maybe let it go? I’ll keep using it, but who knows for how long...
